TOWN IN THE NEWS ‘Town expands to Upper East Side’ via The Real Deal Town Residential is set to open a new office on the Upper East Side. The office will occupy a 6,000-square-foot space at 239 East 79th Street, at the corner of Second Avenue. The ground-floor space, will eventually house 55 agents. The company has five other offices throughout the city, including locations in the West Village, Flatiron District, the Financial District, Astor Place and Midtown. Founded by Andrew Heiberger at the end of 2010, the brokerage now has over 300 agents and staff and some $500 million in exclusive sales listings, the company said. “As one of the world’s most prominent and prestigious neighborhoods, there was never any question that the Upper East Side would be part of the first phase of Town’s growth,” Heiberger said in a statement. “This is an exciting milestone for our company.” Juliet Clapp has been named sales director for the office, while Hal Gavzie has been promoted from Town’s listings director to leasing director for the office. Designed by architecture and design firm Grade, the office will feature custom-designed furniture made of sycamore, stone, lacquer and concrete, the company said. The location was selected because it “sits at one of the key crossroads of the Upper East Side,” said Matthew Van Damm, Town’s director of operations, and is a “highly visible corner space surrounded by a staggering density of residential inventory. |
