New York, NY, July 3, 2014 - On Friday, June 27th, 2014, actors J.D "Bodie" Williams, Felicia "Snoop" Pearson and Julitio "Naman" McCullum from HBO's hit show The Wire stopped by FIT for the special DCM edition of The Hip Hop Improv Show - TAKE IT PERSONAL. The improv show is presented by Hot 97's Cipha Sounds and Upright Citizens Brigade "UCB", the top improv theatre and school in NYC. Improvisers from Cipha Sounds' team A Tribe Called YES [Lydia Hensler, , Brandon Gardner, Sean Diston, Natasha Rothwell, and Cipha Sounds] reenacted stories originally told by the cast of "The Wire."
During the set, the cast shared a story about how the drug dealers on the streets were extremely understanding and cooperative with the cast and crew filming on their block. The drug dealers were so accommodating, that they insisted that one of the cast members wear a very opulent and extravagant piece of jewelry while the show was filmed. The cast also revealed how their celebrity status led a car salesman to loan them a vehicle (which is against the dealerships policy) and how they ended up totaling the borrowed vehicle.
Friday night was a very special edition of the Hip Hop Improv Show - Take It Personal because the show was based on the hit series "The Wire" and was performed by multiple by the improvisers from the UCB theatre school in NY and Los Angeles.
Music was provided by Drewski from Hot 97. Special guests included comedian/actress Anjelah Johnson, Bernard Smalls (StuffFlyPeopleLike.com), Rae Holliday (StuffFlyPeopleLike.com), Jakk Doe (JakkDoe.com), Willy Dope of Par-City, and more.
