The following is a list of legitimate charities and organization in need of donations to help with the relief efforts underway in Haiti.

For those interesting in helping immediately, simply text “HAITI” to “90999? and a donation of $10 will be given automatically to the Red Cross to help with relief efforts, charged to your cell phone bill. This is a legitimate number from the US State Department & is a quick alternative to donating with a credit card.
In Canada, donations can be made by text message to the Salvation Army’s Haiti Earthquake Disaster Relief relief fund. Donors can text the world “HAITI” to 45678 from any Rogers Wireless or Bell Mobility phone to contribute $5.00 to The Salvation Army.
