First annual Hop Cashay day was a huge success. It was a day of giving back to the community with free food, free drinks, book bags to kids going back to school with pencil sharpners & note books in each bag, and free hair cuts was given for the whole event. We had free raffles for music equipment, winners left with speakers, xbox games,and a half court shot winner got to leave with a brand new basketball. We also gave kids free painted faces. It was just an amazing and unforgettable time full of laughter and positivity. We are all looking forward to next year to be even bigger and better.

Polaroid ID450- Wifi Enhanced Pocket Video Recorder

The Ego is @LiquidImage's first mountable camera. It shoots in 1080p at 30 frames per second and 720p at 60 frames per second for smooth high action footage with H.264 .MOV formatting. This camera also captures 12 mega pixel still and continuous photos.

Every new Ego comes with a micro USB cable, a mount, extra adhesive, and a clear faceplate. The battery is integrated into the camera and initially is halfway charged. Before the first use, its recommend charging the battery for about two hours.

To get started, the Ego is set up like their other cameras with two main buttons.

First, there is the power button. It's basic function is to power on and off the camera but it is also used for switching between modes. The LED light changes color indicating which mode you are in.

To start or stop picture or video recording, press the shutter button. This button is also used to make selections when programming the camera and to start and stop WIFI.

The LCD screen tells you what mode you are in, how many files you have recorded in each mode, battery life, WiFi status, and so on. For the full list of what the LCD screen displays, check out the product manual which comes with the Ego or go to the website.

The camera lens has a field of view of 135 degrees for widescreen recording and its focus is from about 6 inches to infinity. The shutter speed ranges from ½ to 1/8000 frames per second. It's important when handling the ego to clean the lens before shooting to avoid blurry images and videos caused by dust or fingerprints.

The microphone records in mono, is water-resistant, omni-directional and has a minus 42-decibel sensitivity.

The media door has the ports for USB, HDMI, and the Micro SDHC Card. The ego takes USB 2.0 for high-speed data transfer and a class six or higher Micro SDHC card up to 32 gigabytes in size.

At the bottom is a quarter inch accessory connection point, making the Ego easy to connect to tripod plates or any other accessory mounts.

Wahl and Petfinder Foundation are addressing a dirty issue about dog adoption. Together, they want America to know:


·         As many as 8 million animals will be placed in shelters this year — only half will find a home.

·         October is National Adopt a Shelter Dog Month, AND it's a time when adoption rates are notoriously low.

·         Three out of four dogs entering shelters are in need of grooming, but due to limited supplies, only two will receive it.

 

Why is grooming so important? Clean, healthy dogs are more likely to find forever homes. So, to give shelter dogs a better chance at a fresh start, Petfinder Foundation and Wahl are teaming up to get 10,000 dogs washed & ready for adoption. Below (and attached) is a release with more information about the initiative, including a nationwide Dirty Dogs contest where dog parents can win $5,000 for their local shelter.

STERLING, Ill. (September 27, 2013) – October is National Adopt a Shelter Dog Month, a time when dog adoption rates are historically low. To help clean out America's shelters, two pet industry leaders, Wahl and Petfinder Foundation, are addressing a dirty issue about pet adoption, and in the process giving thousands of shelter dogs a fresh start.

 

"Grooming is important to the health of our pets, but it's critical to the adoption of dogs who are abandoned to shelters and need new families," said Karen Hollish, program marketing manager for Petfinder Foundation, "While there are many hurdles to dog adoption, one of the ongoing challenges rescue groups and shelters face is access to much-needed grooming supplies."

 

According to a recent survey conducted by Petfinder Foundation, three out of four dogs entering pet shelters today are in need of grooming, but due to limited supplies and resources, only two of them will receive it. As for the impact of grooming on dog adoption, 73 percent of adopters start the process online, visiting websites such as Petfinder or their local animal rescue website to view profile photos of available dogs. Left unkempt, these dogs' chances of making it rest on the hope that those looking to adopt can look past their dirty or shaggy exterior.

 

In response, Wahl, a leading manufacturer of pet grooming products, and the Petfinder Foundation are helping 10,000 dogs get washed and ready for adoption this October. To do this, Wahl is donating approximately 1,000 bottles of its All-natural Pet Shampoo to shelters nationwide to help with the clean-up effort.

 

"We look forward to working with the Petfinder Foundation on such an important initiative," said Shay Moeller, product manager for Wahl Clipper. "As a pet industry leader, it's our responsibility to raise awareness of this issue and help our shelters give their animals the best possible chance of being adopted." 

 

Bringing a Dirty Issue to Light

 

In addition to arming shelters across America with grooming supplies, Wahl and Petfinder Foundation are launching the Dirty Dogs Contest, an effort that encourages dog owners everywhere to get a little dirty to help clean out their local shelter this October.

During National Adopt a Shelter Dog Month, pet owners can submit a photo of their dog at its dirtiest via the Dirty Dogs Contest on the Wahl Facebook page. The winner will receive a $5,000 grant for their favorite local shelter or rescue group, and the top two finalists will receive $1,000 for their favorite local shelter or rescue group. Wahl and Petfinder Foundation will announce the top 25 photos at the end of October, at which time fans vote for their favorites to determine the winner.

Dirty Dogs Contest prize packs include:

·         First Place: The grand prize winner will receive a year's supply of Wahl pet grooming products, $100 gift card, plus $5,000 and grooming supplies awarded to the animal shelter or rescue group of their choice.

·         Second and Third Place: Two second place winners will receive a Wahl grooming kit, $50 gift card, plus $1,000 and grooming supplies awarded to the animal shelter or rescue group of their choice.

New York, NY, September 25, 2013 -On Friday, September 20, 2013, Tahiry was featured in the Hip Hop Improv Show - TAKE IT PERSONAL presented by Hot 97's Cipha Sounds and Upright Citizens Brigade (UCB), the top improv theater and school in NYC. Improvisers from Cipha Sounds' team A Tribe Called YES (Anthony Atamanuik, Lydia Hensler, Natasha Rothwell, Christian Capozzoli, Phil Jackson, Shaun Diston, and Cipha Sounds) reenacted stories originally told by singer and reality star Tahiry.

During the show Tahiry shared a story about how she fought another woman at Joe Budden's birthday party. Cipha Sounds said, "The show is Hip Hip Improv, not rapper improv. Tahiry was my special guest this week and proved that you don't have to be able to rhyme to tell hilarious stories. Only problem was the stage was not big enough for her... Um.... Assets."

Music was provided by DJ Drewski of Hot 97 and Sirius XM.

TAKE IT PERSONAL will continue every Friday at the legendary UCB Theater.
