A Course in Miracles, Lesson 305

A Course in Miracles, Lesson 305
Marianne Williamson Listen In
Close this window

Seeing through the eyes of the ego, we doom ourselves to a lack of inner peace. With this lesson, we claim the loving vision of the world that leads inevitably to inner peace.

There is a peace that Christ bestows on us.

Who uses but Christ's vision finds a peace so deep and quiet, undisturbable and wholly changeless, that the world contains no counterpart. Comparisons are still before this peace. And all the world departs in silence as this peace envelops it, and gently carries it to truth, no more to be the home of fear. For love has come, and healed the world by giving it Christ's peace.

Father, the peace of Christ is given us, because it is Your Will that we be saved. Help us today but to accept Your gift, and judge it not. For it has come to us to save us from our judgment on ourselves.

Quote of the Day
"God is all that is good. He creates only love, therefore he did not create sickness. Sickness is an illusion and does not actually exist. It is part of our worldly dream, our self-created nightmare. Our prayer to God is that He awaken us from the dream."

A Course in Miracles, Lesson 293 w/ my reflections.

It takes mental effort to deny the darkness and emotional effort to embrace the light. With this lesson, we do both.

All fear is past and only love is here.

All fear is past, because its source is gone, and all its thoughts gone with it. Love remains the only present state, whose Source is here forever and forever. Can the world seem bright and clear and safe and welcoming, with all my past mistakes oppressing it, and showing me distorted forms of fear? Yet in the present love is obvious, and its effects apparent. All the world shines in reflection of its holy light, and I perceive a world forgiven at last.

Father, let not Your holy world escape my sight today. Nor let my ears be deaf to all the hymns of gratitude the world is singing underneath the sounds of fear. There is a real world which the present holds safe from all past mistakes. And I would see only this world before my eyes today.

Quote of the Day

"We do not always know at the time why the Holy Spirit directs us as He does. The miracle worker's function is merely to follow instructions in a desire to serve God. Our compensation, materially and emotionally, will arrive in God's own time and way."

— Excerpted from A Return to Love: Reflections on the Principles of A Course in Miracles

My Reflections:  The world can be a scary place. It may seem like we have to do this or that just to continue living in our own homes. Parents telling us this or that while we can tell they are not even really happy. Who did they listen to one has to ask themselves and if I listen to them will it be an old voice in their head I am really listening to.  To me it would make sense to get on the path of the "being" that set this whole thing in motion because if hhe smart enough to make a living cell we call earth, how come he cant tell me the best way to go about living my own life.

A Course in Miracles, Lesson 291

While we often think that we can only be at peace if certain circumstances change, with this exercise we claim peace as a constant. Finding peace within ourselves, situations around us automatically become more peaceful.

This is a day of stillness and of peace.

Christ's vision looks through me today. His sight shows me all things forgiven and at peace, and offers this same vision to the world. And I accept this vision in its name, both for myself and for the world as well. What loveliness we look upon today! What holiness we see surrounding us! And it is given us to recognize it is a holiness in which we share; it is the Holiness of God Himself.

This day my mind is quiet, to receive the Thoughts You offer me. And I accept what comes from You, instead of from myself. I do not know the way to You. But You are wholly certain. Father, guide Your Son along the quiet path that leads to You. Let my forgiveness be complete, and let the memory of You return to me.

Quote of the Day

"We're afraid to leave things in God's hands because we don't know what He'll do with them. We're afraid He'll lose our file. If we're going to set any goal, let us set the goal of being healed of the belief that God is fear instead of love."

A Course in Miracles, Lesson 288

All of us have things in our past that we are ashamed of, and our greatest hope is that others will see past those mistakes to the person who we are now. With this lesson, we instruct ourselves to give that same mercy to others that we might receive it for ourselves.

Let me forget my brother's past today.

This is the thought that leads the way to You, and brings me to my goal. I cannot come to You without my brother. And to know my Source, I first must recognize what You created one with me. My brother's is the hand that leads me on the way to You. His sins are in the past along with mine, and I am saved because the past is gone. Let me not cherish it within my heart, or I will lose the way to walk to You. My brother is my savior. Let me not attack the savior You have given me. But let me honor him who bears Your Name, and so remember that It is my own.

Forgive me, then, today. And you will know you have forgiven me if you behold your brother in the light of holiness. He cannot be less holy than can I, and you can not be holier than he.

Quote of the Day

"The miracle worker's goal in every circumstance is peace of mind."

The Realm of Consciousness

by Eckhart Tolle

How easy it is for people to become trapped in their conceptual prisons. The human mind, in its desire to know, understand and control, mistakes its opinions and viewpoints for the truth. It says: this is how it is.

VIEWPOINTS - You have to be larger than thought to realise that however you interpret your life or someone else's life or behaviour, however you judge any situation, it is no more than a viewpoint, one of many possible perspectives. It is no more than a bundle of thoughts. But reality is one unified whole, in which all things are interwoven, where nothing exists in and by itself.

INNER SPACE - The realm of consciousness is much vaster than thought can grasp. When you no longer believe everything you think, you step out of thought and see clearly that the thinker is not who you are. The mind exists in a state of not enough and so is always greedy for more. When you are identified with mind, you get bored and restless very easily. When you feel bored, you can satisfy the mind's hunger by picking up a magazine, making a phone call, switching on the TV, surfing the web or going shopping. Or you can stay bored and restless and observe what it feels like to be bored and restless. As you bring awareness to the feeling, there is suddenly some space and stillness around it, as it were.

A little at first, but as the sense of inner space grows, the feeling of boredom will begin to diminish in intensity and significance. So even boredom can teach you who you are and who you are not. You discover that a bored person is not who you are. Boredom, anger, sadness, or fear are not yours, not personal. They are conditions of the human mind.

DYSFUNCTIONAL CONCEPTS - Prejudice of any kind implies that you are identified with the thinking mind. It means you don't see the other human being anymore, but only your own concept of that human being. To reduce the aliveness of another human being to a concept is already a form of violence. Thinking that is not rooted in awareness becomes self-serving and dysfunctional. Cleverness devoid of wisdom is extremely dangerous and destructive. That is the current state of most of humanity.

TRANSCENDING THOUGHT - The next step in human evolution is to transcend thought. It doesn't mean not to think anymore, but simply not to be completely identified with thought, possessed by thought.

Feel the energy of your inner body. Feel the life that you are, the life that animates the body. The body then becomes a doorway, so to speak, into a deeper sense of aliveness underneath the fluctuating emotions and underneath your thinking.

ALIVENESS - There is an aliveness in you that you can feel with your entire being, not just in the head. Every cell is alive in that presence in which you don't need to think. Yet, in that state, if thought is required for some practical purpose, it is there. The mind can still operate, and it operates beautifully when the greater intelligence that you are uses it and expresses itself through it.

AWARE PRESENCE - You may have overlooked that brief periods in which you are "conscious without thought" are already occurring naturally and spontaneously in your life. You may be engaged in some manual activity or walking across the room or waiting at the airline counter and be so completely present that the usual mental static of thought subsides and is replaced by an aware presence. Your perceptions become crystal clear, unclouded by thought.

STATE OF KNOWING - To the mind, all this is not significant because it has more important things to think about. It is also not memorable and that's why you may have overlooked that it is already happening. The truth is that it is the most significant thing that can happen to you. It is the beginning of a shift from thinking to aware presence. Become at ease with the state of not knowing.

BEYOND THE MIND - This takes you beyond mind because the mind is always trying to conclude and interpret. It is afraid of not knowing. So, when you can be at ease with not knowing, you have already gone beyond the mind. A deeper knowing that is non-conceptual then arises out of that state.

MASTERY - Artistic creation, sports, dance, teaching, counseling - mastery in any field of endeavour implies that the thinking mind is either no longer involved at all or at least is taking second place. A power and intelligence greater than you and yet one with you in essence takes over. There is no decision-making process anymore; spontaneous right action happens and you are not doing it. Mastery of life is the opposite of control. You become aligned with the greater consciousness. It acts, speaks, does the works.

Go with the flow and grow

So hello everyone...its is truly a blessing to be here and after 23 years only now am I finally coming to realizations on this thing we call life.

I have been learning a lot recently, more than my years in school, elementary, middle, high school and even college. Life is meant to be easy and yet we complicating by wanting more than we truly need. (i.e. our financial mess that is affecting the whole world.) In these time it is better to let go of what you have been taught and start fresh learning a new. Life will get better for not only you, but us all since we have to realize where we have been going wrong if we want to change what has been happening to us. I know we all want to feel like individuals and make our own life but if you truly dont care for your neighbor how are you truly going to care for yourself.

Instead of looking at what others have think " God Blessed you with that and if I needed that I would have been born with it". Instead of trying so hard to "fix" your outer appearance aim to find your inner knowing and you will automatically feel a lot better about yourself. I guarantee it like meineke. We have so much more to be thankful for than not so everyday write a least 5 things you are thankful for in a notebook as a way to help you realize this fact. Do different things if you want different results. If it did not work last year why would it work now.

Look inside and dont be afraid of what you will find because you will only be better and a stronger being. Starting looking into your feelings instead of denying them. Start being more gracious and thankful because you really never had to exist and life truly is a gift. So know that you have purpose here and God just would like for us to live it.

So my fellow being let us pray and meditate for eachother, why, beacause we are all one. What affects you may have an effect on me.

God Bless and let us co-create grerat things with God instead of against Tao.

Go with the flow and grow, I promise.

A Course in Miracles, Lesson 285

By accepting our holiness, we remember who we really are. As our thoughts then reflect that remembrance, they are returned to us in peace and joy. With this exercise, we remind ourselves to stay in conscious contact with the holiness within.

My holiness shines bright and clear today.

Today I wake with joy, expecting but the happy things of God to come to me. I ask but them to come, and realize my invitation will be answered by the thoughts to which it has been sent by me. And I will ask for only joyous things the instant I accept my holiness. For what would be the use of pain to me, what purpose would my suffering fulfill, and how would grief and loss avail me if insanity departs from me today, and I accept my holiness instead?

Father, my holiness is Yours. Let me rejoice in it, and through forgiveness be restored to sanity. Your Son is still as You created him. My holiness is part of me, and also part of You. And what can alter Holiness Itself?

Quote of the Day
"Ultimately, it is not our credentials but our commitment to a higher purpose that creates our effectiveness in the world."

Awakening the Healer Within

   Awakening the Healer Within

by Deepak Chopra

In my experience as a physician, over several decades, I have come to realize that a person's internal state of well-being really influences the outcome of illness. If you are feeling safe, loved, and the people around you are supportive, then your body is more likely to self-regulate. Self-regulation is an important part of the healing process. We all have a healing response built into our biology. This healing response is the restoration of homeostasis.

Homeostasis is a state of dynamic, non-change in the midst of change. This means that in a healthier person, thousands of biological parameters remain within a certain range no matter what is happening in the environment. These biological parameters include everything from blood sugar levels to hormone levels to body temperature regulation to regulation of the immune system. It is now known that stress disrupts homeostasis and the experience of centered awareness and the giving and receiving of love restore homeostasis.

As I have indicated, disruption of homeostasis is the beginning of disease and the restoration of homeostasis is the healing response. Therefore, no matter what illness you are facing, the most important thing you can do is to move from a place of fear to a place of love and safety. In breast cancer in particular there is research to show that women in support groups have a much healthier outcome then women who feel lonely and afraid.
Today, the precise biological pathways through which love heals are even being mapped out by scientists. In particular, an internal state of euphoria induced by the experience of love causes the secretion of neurochemicals such as dopamine, serotonin, opiates, oxytocin, and vasopressin. These chemicals are not only antidepressants; they also modulate the activity of the immune system and are referred to as immuno-regulators.

Therefore, have confidence in your own healing power, awaken the healer within you, and surround yourself with loving and caring people and have a one-pointed intention that you will heal yourself. The mechanism through which intention orchestrates biological response is a mysterious phenomenon. But there is no doubt that intention influences our biology.
Through meditation, for example, one can learn to lower heart rate and blood pressure and eliminate the stress response. When intention is introduced before meditation it works in a precise manner by evoking very specific biological phenomena. According to wisdom traditions, intention has infinite organizing power.

This means that intention can orchestrate an infinity of space-time events in order to fulfill the intended outcome. In fact, a frequently-used term in the field of biology is teleology. Teleology was an old-fashioned term which is now being used frequently to explain certain mechanisms in evolution. Many scientists feel that intended outcomes influence their own biological mechanisms even in evolution (in other words, evolution is purpose-driven.) In any case, do not underestimate the power of intention. Think of it as electricity or electromagnetism and learn to harness it.

Heart-Centered Consciousness

Heart-Centered Consciousness

by Owen Waters

Unconditional Love

The purpose of being human, as we shift into the New Reality, is to learn about heart-centered consciousness. The universe is, by its very design, filled with the love of the Original Creator. Universal love is the aspect of Original Consciousness which holds Creation together. In the Original Creation, Infinite Being divided its consciousness into two complementary aspects - thought and feeling - and then set them into motion.

The love of the Original Creator forms the very fabric of space. No material thing and no part of "empty" space is devoid of that love. Universal love is literally everywhere. However, the human condition is only affected by this love when it is channeled into the human realm through its use by humans.

We are here on Earth to learn how to translate universal love into human form. Once universal love has been transformed through the consciousness of any individual human being, it enters the global mind atmosphere of Earth. We all share constant access to this global mind. While we initiate thoughts and feelings on our own, we also receive thoughts and feelings from the global mind. We sometimes alter these by our own thought, sometimes not, and then pass them back into the global mind. In an unconscious way, but not consciously, people are fully telepathic as they receive and transmit thoughts and feelings from and to the global mind atmosphere.

When a person experiences heart-centered consciousness, they radiate a type of consciousness which is very different to basic emotion. Heart-centered consciousness is a state of unconditional love. It is not a product of emotional like or dislike. Once started, nothing in physical reality affects the flow of unconditional love. It is something that just is, regardless of the circumstances.

Unconditional love is something that flows through your heart when you reach up above day-to-day consciousness, then open your heart and just allow it. This heart-centered consciousness always sees the elegant solution to the sorrows that can arise from basic human emotions.

Unconditional love allows, accepts and supports. It is not something you try to do. It just flows when you allow it to enter your heart and take your consciousness above the cares of daily reality and into an expanded vista of awareness.

Each time you radiate unconditional love into the global mind atmosphere, you upgrade the entire human experience, taking humanity yet one more step into the unfolding New Reality.

A Course in Miracles, Lesson 281

A Course in Miracles, Lesson 281
Marianne Williamson Listen In
When you realize that thought is the level of cause, you begin to think differently. Not worrying or fretting or overanalyzing a matter, but thinking the thoughts of God. What would God think about a situation or circumstance? You may not know, but as you study and reflect, you begin to think with God. By thinking with God, your thoughts are no longer hurtful to you or others. Your thoughts become an expression of the love of God.

I can be hurt by nothing but my thoughts.

Father, Your Son is perfect. When I think that I am hurt in any way, it is because I have forgotten who I am, and that I am as You created me. Your Thoughts can only bring me happiness. If ever I am sad or hurt or ill, I have forgotten what You think, and put my little meaningless ideas in place of where Your Thoughts belong, and where they are. I can be hurt by nothing but my thoughts. The Thoughts I think with You can only bless. The Thoughts I think with You alone are true.

I will not hurt myself today. For I am far beyond all pain. My Father placed me safe in Heaven, watching over me. And I would not attack the Son He loves, for what He loves is also mine to love.

Quote of the Day
"There's no more potent way to thank God for your gifts, or to increase them, than by sharing them. You will be given as much power in the world as you are willing to use on His behalf."

Understanding our freedom is acknowledging that we are not bound. We are not bound by a body, because we have a spirit. We are not bound by fear, because we reside in God's love. Our father is free, and we are free. In this lesson, we exercise our right to the freedom of God. If I am bound, my Father is not free.If I accept that I am prisoner within a body, in a world in which all things that seem to live appear to die, then is my Father prisoner with me. And this do I believe, when I maintain the laws the world obeys must I obey; the frailties and the sins which I perceive are real, and cannot be escaped. If I am bound in any way, I do not know my Father nor my Self. And I am lost to all reality. For truth is free, and what is bound is not a part of truth.Father, I ask for nothing but the truth. I have had many foolish thoughts about myself and my creation, and have brought a dream of fear into my mind. Today, I would not dream. I choose the way to You instead of madness and instead of fear. For truth is safe, and only love is sure. When we're working solely for money, our motivation is getting rather than giving. The miraculous transformation here is a shift from a sales mentality to a service mentality. Until we make this shift, we're operating from ego and concentrating on the things of this world rather than on love.Quote of the Day"When we're working solely for money, our motivation is getting rather than giving.
